Een participatief proces is een reeks participerende activiteiten (bijvoorbeeld eerst een enquête invullen, vervolgens voorstellen doen, deze in persoonlijke of virtuele vergaderingen bespreken en uiteindelijk prioriteiten stellen) met als doel een beslissing te nemen en een beslissing te nemen over een specifiek onderwerp.
Voorbeelden van participerende processen zijn: een proces van verkiezing van commissieleden (waarbij kandidaturen eerst worden gepresenteerd, vervolgens besproken en uiteindelijk een kandidatuur wordt gekozen), participatieve begrotingen (waar voorstellen worden gedaan, economisch worden gewaardeerd en met het beschikbare geld worden gestemd), een strategisch planningsproces, het gezamenlijk opstellen van een verordening of norm, het ontwerp van een stedelijke ruimte of de productie van een openbaar beleidsplan.

About this process
This is a space where we work together to discuss and generate ideas for neighborhood level changes that encourage active living. It is specifically focused on places that may not already have good "bones" in terms of safe sidewalks, streets, nearby destinations, and spaces for activity.
The idea is for all of us to work together and use this site to learn about the problem, come up with ideas, discuss them with others. The goal is to create a collective document that puts our ideas into a form we can start to use in our neighborhoods.
In the process of developing your thoughts, we encourage starting from basic principles:
What does active living mean for people living in these neighborhood types?
What resources and possible advantages already exist?
What are the ultimate goals in terms of the physical and social health for residents?
How can residents implement changes and build continued momentum?
The goal is to develop fresh ideas that can become a starting point for neighborhood groups aiming to improve local quality of life.
